Sketchy Thursdays 8.25

Hi everyone!! There is a new Sketchy Thursdays up today and I really love it, even though it scared me at first. Here it is...

I know, what is so scary about it, right? Well for me it is the circles. I just don't do circles well. But I was ready for the challenge. I decided to make it a little easier on myself and I used these awesome circle tags from Elle's Studio. (I love Elle's tags.) Here is what I came up with.

My oldest got braces this summer, which she was really excited about, until that night when they started hurting so bad. Now she is fine and used to them, at least until they get tightened. LOL.

On a side note, prayers for my beloved OBX. Go away Irene!!! Leave my "home" alone!

Sketchy Thursdays 8.18

I never really did many multi-photo pages before I started playing with sketches. My mind really doesn't focus on multiple photos at a time. Plus, I have that issue with making sure all multi-photo pages have the multiple photos from the same moment! This is a issue I have mentioned before, but is still very real. LOL. But playing with sketches has really helped me use more than one picture on a page. And I am really enjoying it.

This week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch is 3 photo sketch.

And here is my take, sticking with 3 photos.

Close up.

I love the top picture so much. My mom looks so happy and it makes me smile just to look at her!

Anyway, make sure to play along with Sketchy Thursdays this week! And thanks for stopping by!

Friday Night Cropping

I went cropping last night with some friends. Always a good time. I was there for 6 hours and only got two pages done. Yeah pretty pathetic. I was going to at least buy stuff for a color challenge too, but never even looked for that. There was a lot of laughing and talking and joking going on though. And I ended up spending way more money then I meant to, but I justified it because I bought a Smash journal for my first born for a Christmas gift. Yeah, a little early but those things sell out like CRAZY!

I had this picture of baby girl and my mom at the beach and even though you cannot see their faces, it is the coolest shot.

Until I showed my girlies the picture, I did not even notice how baby girl's little cheek was peeking out of her bathing suit. So cute! Once I realized this, it made the whole page idea even better.

I was going to call this something like "sandy legs" or "snack break" but calling attention to the cheek seems so much better. There are not many more times I can call attention to something so cute without complete humiliation.

For this page I used a Pencil Lines sketch and a Studio Calico kit. It took me three hours to create, but I sure had a good time!

A new Sketchy Thursdays and more beach pics

The new sketch is up over at Sketchy Thursdays! I really look forward to Thursdays. Here it the sketch...

Here is my take...

DD#2 is so good for the camera. She has the pout, the eyes, the freckles! I took a lot of pictures of her at the beach because every time I said "let's go have a photo shoot", she was jumping at the chance. Kinda nice! I think in these pictures she was actually practicing for her modeling debut! LOL.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you link up your pages to Sketchy Thursdays this week for a chance at the scrappy prize!

More fun then monochromatic

I am not a fan of monochromatic pages. They all just blend together to me. At least the ones I try do. I have seen others that are awesome, but mine are just plain boring. I guess it is just not my thing. But SNR changed theirs to be a color challenge, where the color of the month just needs to be the main color on the page. I judge mine like this. I look at the page and if it pretty much the color, I am good. Yeah, real technical, right?

Anyway, for June, the color of the month was turquoise/aqua. Fun colors!!! Here is mine.

I love this picture. I took them out for a photo shoot back in May and this is one of the shots I got. I love it because it really shows how different they all are. Plus it was fun creating the background with some Mr. Hueys and whatever turquoise/aqua stuff I had in my stash.

I hope you all had a great weekend! mine was too short. What about yours?

Sketchy Thursdays 8.4

I am back from the beach (against my will but Dear Hubby said I had to come home) and holding (in my computer) 724 awesome beach pictures of our trip ready to be scrapped!! Ok, I probably will not scrap all of them because some of them are not the best, but I will be on beach pictures for a while! My favorite!!!

Plus while I was gone, I visited a LSS called Beach Memories. It was the cutest store ever! They really specialize in beach papers and embellies, not that I am surprised since it was at the beach and all. Such a fun place. And since I bought some really awesome beach papers there, I needed to use them right away too! So beach papers mixed with new beach pictures and the newest Sketchy Thursdays sketch equals one GREAT recipe!

Here is the sketch...

And my beachy page...

Did I mention I love the beach???

Anyway, play along this week! It is a fun messy sketch that can really make you feel like CREATING!!! And you can always win the prize!

Thanks for stopping by!

Elle's Studio 7.28 Sketch

Now that I am back from vacation (against my will), I have been working on pages!!! I must admit, I am still a bit rusty. Who would think that that a full week off of scrapping would add to creative block?!?!? This morning was better than yesterday, but I was still dragging. (But maybe that was because it was before 6 AM.) Maybe I just need more coffee!! Anyway...

I am getting this in on the last day for Elle's Studio Thursday sketch. These are pictures from our trip and I really love them. Here is my page...

Close up...

She is so sweet and pretty. I just love these pictures because they are just so natural of her! And they were towards the end of the trip so she was tan and happy. Love it!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by! Wish me luck on shaking the drags!!

Some fun with American Crafts

No, I am no guest designer for them. I have not made the DT there. (Not that either would be upsetting to me though.) But I have played around recently with some American Crafts products purposely. This is not far from unusual though because I love their stuff. I seriously cannot wait for the new Amy Tangerine line. HELLO! AWESOME!!!

But I digress...

So anyway, just some of the stuff I have been working on...

I used all the tags in the package for this one. The Margarita line is so bright and cheery. Love it!!!

This is their Hello Sunshine line. I love this picture of DD#2 so much. Her eyes are so blue and expressive. Their color changes some with her mood. And those freckles! (Right now they are really dark, having just spent our vacation on the beach.)

A card. Baby Girl used it as a birthday card for one of her grandmas a couple of weeks ago. It was really sweet because she wrote the message inside herself.

This is a little mini tag album. I did it as a recap of 2011. There is a covered tag for each month of the year and the first 6 months are finished. Now that I have some great beach pics, I will complete July too. I actually finished this one up over vacation, about a week and a half ago. And until today, that was the last of the scrapping I had done. So today I figured I would be all ready to create, having had such a break, but no. It was HARD to get something completed! What is that about?!?! I am hoping I was just a little tired and maybe a little out of practice this morning and it will get easier. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
