On a grid...

Grids are a great way to create a layout.  It is so easy to decorate a small square or circle or other shape because you are looking just at a small piece instead of a whole 12x12.  I created this grid based layout using all American Crafts products, some stitching a gesso.

See some of the details...

I just love all the bits and pieces!

So try a grid.  I bet you'll like it!

Happy Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

go, Go, GO, GO!!!

My girl goes.  Fast.  All.Day.Long.  Seriously.  She is awesome and fun and smart and happy and wonderful.  But she does not stop.  Even at six, she is still a mile a minute.  I took her out for some chasing the sunrise pictures and I most got pics of her dancing like she was straight out of Staying Alive or running.  I am sure I will be so glad I have these real life personality pics later on.  Well, I am glad I have them now.

Well, I used four running shots for an Evalicious page.  Who needs patterned paper when you have tags and stamps and badges!!

Here is my page.

I had a lot of questions about the lines I did on my last Evalicious page, so that is my tutorial for the Evalicious blog today!

Here is the video...

Thanks for watching and thanks for stopping by!  I hope your Monday was awesome!

It's been a long time...

I have always loved a sketch challenge.  Using a sketch was always so fun and easy.  A perfect place to jump into a page.  Sometimes my page would look a lot like the sketch and other times, not hardly at all.  But all that was ok.  It was just fun to work within a frame.

Anyway, Color Conspiracy has a monthly sketch challenge and this month I was able to play along!

Here is the sketch...

And here is my interpretation of it...

I turned it and went from there.

And there are new releases coming form Color Conspiracy soon!!  I heard it was March 6th!!!  I have seen the sneaks and they look fabulous.

Well, I hope you all decide to play along with the sketch.  I'd love to see your pages.

Have a great weekend!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Gardeners' Digest: February Garden Girl Blog Hop

Welcome to the Gardeners' Digest, a monthly update from the Garden Girls, the design team at Two Peas in a Bucket. We'd love it if you'd visit each of our blogs today to see what's in bloom in the Garden this month.  You probably got here from Lisa Dickinson's blog.  (Did you see her cute outfit this week?? It is one of my favorite things she posts.  I wish I was so fashionable!)

For March, we are all about die cut shapes.  Hmmm...  can you tell what shape I decided on??  I am loving the Elle's Studio Papers and corrugated Thickers!

This...

This is Wilna's most recent page from the In The Mood To Scrap Video.  You can see it here...  I just LOVE this butterfly and heart!  I do not use a lot of glitter, but WOW, does this heart not look incredible?!?!  And the blue paint on the butterfly.  So messy and perfect at the same time.  It really makes me want to play - not just scrapbook!

Oh, just five???

1.  Modern Mercantile by Lisa Dickinson.  Oh my goodness, this is yummy.  The colors and patterns are just awesome.  I LOVE this line!!!

2.  Rubber alphabet stamp set from American Crafts in the newest line by Amy Tangerine call Yes, Please.  I love alpha stamps.  And seriously, this font rocks.

3.  Where did these feathers come from???  Awesome!!  Bella Blvd hit it out of the park with these.  And this color is called saltwater.  I must have them!

4.  Badges are one of my favorite embellishments right now and these ones from Evalicious are adorable!!

5.  And what could be better than wood veneer and cute little phrases?!?!?  I love the "love" one the most.  Adorable.  Thanks Studio Calico for this awesomeness.

This is one of the best parts, right??  As a thanks for hopping, I am giving away one seat to this!!!

Yes, that is the new class called Art Class With Wilna, and I know it will be awesome.  Here is a little sneak of it.

If you are interested in a possible free spot to the class, leave a comment!  I will choose one winner on Thursday, February 28th and will announce it on Friday, March 1st.

It is time for you continue your hop!  The next stop is Jill Sprott.  Jill is one of my favorite scrapbookers.  I love the way she uses color and I think she has the best handwriting ever.

And if you are just dropping in here first, you can go back and start on the Two Peas in a Bucket blog and go through the whole thing!

Have a great all and thanks for stopping by!

Now that my beach house is rented...

My mind is slipping to the ocean.  I do not think there is a day that goes by now that I am not counting down to the day we roll in and can see and smell and hear the water.  I can't wait.  This cold, gloominess that we have had this winter is really just not working for me.  I know for sure that all those days I wished for colder temps were just ridiculous.  I do not like this.  It has gotten so bad that I was looking for new jobs for my hubby, not that he is looking, but I found one in the Bahamas!  Perfect!  Now if only he was qualified for it.  Hmmm...

Anyway, out come the beach pictures from last year.  Yay!  I am so glad I take so many pictures each trip!

No, it is not crooked, well, it is, but on purpose.  The kraft background is straight.  These girls cracked me up walking the beach like it was a catwalk.  Like they owned it.  Because it is home to us.  Plus this was from our trip in September when the beach was pretty empty, so they could be a goofy as they wanted.

For this page, I used the 6x6 paper pads from Dear Lizzy's 5th & Frolic and some Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collections.  I just punched different stars and spiraled them around my page.  Then I stitched them with my sewing machine three times.

I added lots more American Crafts embellishments from Lucky Charm and My Girl.  And of course, THICKERS!

Well, on to dreaming and counting down the days.

What are you looking forward to?  We can dream together!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Because... by Little Yellow Bicycle

This is my favorite line from Little Yellow Bicycle ever.  Seriously.  It rocks.  Great colors, great patterns.  Super easy to use.  It is awesome.

I created both "love" themed projects and an "everyday" project with it.  It works for both.

Valentine cards...

There are two different packages of the vellum tape, which is the coolest embellishment, in this collection.  The wood button and pin and the canvas letter stickers are from the new Naturals Collection.

And everyday...

And the chipboard, clear cut shapes and other elements that are always so fun to play with.

On a more personal note, Can I tell you how awesome it is to pull out these older photos and scrapbook them!!  Wow!  I love that.  And I have TONS!  I still took a thousand pictures before I even knew what scrapbooking was, and they are all just sitting there, waiting for me to put them in an album!  What a treasure!  It is a good thing I do not feel like I need to have my pages in order.  That would be tough.

Anyway, have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mason jars...

How do you use the cute little mason jars that are such a thing right now?  I have shied away from the adorable papers filled with these jars because I honestly had no idea how I was supposed to use them!  But I was looking through old pages of mine and after seeing one I did with a bunch of polaroid shapes, I decided to lift myself but use the mason jars.

These jars all were cut out of one sheet of Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm collection from American Crafts. Then I rearranged them on to white cardstock, then went from there!

I found that once the jars were an embellishment instead of a part of the paper, it was easy for me to use them!

Everything to make this page came from American Crafts.  I really love these new lines.

Anyway, I hope your Monday is going splendidly!

Thanks for stopping by.

Mists for Shimelle (and me from the 8th)

I am up over on Shimelle.com today talking about one of my favorite things, mists.

This is a sneak of the projects I created for Shimelle for a Five Ways to Use Mists on a Scrapbook Layout post.  There is actually one more project but you have to go over to Shimelle's for even a peek.

One of the page's I created for her was my monthly page about me on the 8th.  February 8th...

I am not going to get into my misting technique here, you have to go to Shimelle.com for that.

But this is me this month.  February has flown by and the 8th was a Friday - AWESOME!  And we had a bunch of fun stuff going on over the weekend.  Plus, it was an lightbulb day that I finally was able to make some decisions that seemed to be weighing on me.  LOVE that!  But here are my 8 things from that moment...

1.  thing today came fast.  (Time is FLYING!)
2.  ready for the weekend.  (and all the fun stuff!)
3.  Decided. (about lots of stuff) TOTALLY COOL.
4.  wishing my coffee maker would just know...  (How awesome would this be?!?!)
5.  determined to make changes.  (I am a great starter of things and not always a good finisher.  But that is OVER!  I am determined!)
6.  looking forward to a night out with friends.  (Hubby and I had Saturday night date night at a great restaurant with some of our best friends planned.)
7.  anxious or is it anxiety (maybe both).  (I think this is pretty normal with kids.  I hope it is.  TELL ME IT IS!!  Lol.)
8.  cold.  (It was freezing!!!  My hands would not thaw out!!)

Well, that's all for now.  Check out my post about five different ways to use spray mists over at Shimelle.com.  Five new pages are up over there.

Have a great weekend everyone!  Thanks for stopping by!
