My favorite trees

On the way to my church there is a cute neighborhood that has decorated their entryway with a row of the most gorgeous cherry blossom trees.  When they are blooming, I will purposely drive past them over and over again, just for a glimpse.  Last year, when my youngest was still in preschool at our church, I grabbed my camera one morning with the intent of stopping to take a picture of her under these amazing trees.  The pictures were not great.  There was this dog barking at us like he wanted to eat us and it was freaking us both out, a lot.  So it was a quick couple of shots and away we went.  I finally got around to scrapbooking this moment.

You can tell by the look on her face she was not having a good time.  Maybe we will try again this year.  They are about to be at full bloom!!!

These gold Thickers are my favorite Thickers ever.  I LOVE the sparkle!

I used all the Lucky Charm stuff again.  I just love those papers.

Well, I think I am going to go drive by right now.  And take my camera.

Thanks for stopping by!

What my daughter did...

About two months ago, my 6 year old decided that this year I would have a birthday party and that she was going to throw it for me.  She was so upset that everyone in the house (her and her two sisters) have a birthday party every year and I never get one.  (Dad never gets one either, but his birthday isn't until the fall so I guess she is not thinking about that yet.)  But anyway, she has been really decided about this party.  She wanted me to put a list together of 16 friends (That's 8 couples mom!) and she was going throw me a party on our front porch.  I think this is the cutest, sweetest thing ever.

But I have told her that this is not a big deal birthday for me (37) and I would like to celebrate with the family instead.  No, she was determined.  I needed a party.

About this same time, my mom mentioned that she would like to have us over for dinner on my birthday.  My sister would come home from school and we would have a little family thing.  So to make my youngest get her wish and my mom get her wish, I asked my mom to talk to baby girl and the two of them could work it out.

So now, it is my birthday and in a few hours I will be heading over to my mom's place for my "surprise" party which my 6 year old it throwing, with my mom's help.  :-)  I know I know about it but she doesn't know I do.  My mom has made it a big deal for her and she is so excited that she has this secret about something so special.  She hasn't even told her sisters!  They went going shopping for something to wear and the food and decorations.  Oh, and a birthday present.  My mom is great for keeping up the excitement and I have to tell you, just knowing that the two of them have been planning and talking and everything about this is the best present for me ever.

Do you think it will be weird for me to show up with my camera to document the whole thing??  LOL. I'll fill you in how it goes later, but I bet it will be the best party I have ever had.

So, this story and this page do not go together for any reason other that both have to do with my baby girl, but that is ok with me.  She is so lovely...

I made this page with the Lucky Charm line from American Crafts.  I love the colors in this one.  Soft and bold all together.  It is awesome.  I also made it an 8.5x11.  Every now and then I like to mix it up. Plus I only had 8.5 in. of the background paper left so that is what I used!

There is some hidden journaling on the tag behind the photo.

I really love the chipboard shapes in this collection.  Thickers, but as shapes.  Very cool.

Well, I guess I should get ready for the party!!  I can't wait!  Have a wonderful Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by!

Gardeners' Digest: March Garden Girl Blog Hop

I cannot believe it is already time for this, but it is!!

Welcome to the Gardeners' Digest, a monthly update from the Garden Girls, the design team at Two Peas in a Bucket. We'd love it if you'd visit each of our blogs today to see what's in bloom in the Garden this month.  You probably got here from Lilith's blog.  Lilith has posted some works of art on her blog lately.  You should definitely check them out.

April is all about color!  Fabulous!!!  Bella Blvd hit it out of the park for me with their colorful products.

This incredible, colorful, rainbow-y layout by TiffanyHood.  Wow!

1.  Any of the newest line from Allison Kreft called Composition & Color, but this paper is awesome.  It makes me wish I did Project Life.

2.  Road Trip Note Tags from Chic Tags.  Seriously cute.  I actually has a project in the works with they guys.  I'll be using up an entire package!!

3.  These metal tabs from Basic Grey.  Hello!!  I need them.

4.  Do you like actions?  I think they are really fun to use on my photos and this one called Cherry Kiss has the most gorgeous effect.  I love it!

5.  And who doesn't need more wood veneer???  I have this package from Freckled Fawn on it's way to me as we speak.  Yay!!

I love prizes.  As a thanks for hopping with us, I am giving away this, a Maggie Holmes 6x9 Clipboard Mini Album.  It is sold out in the store right now, but I have one here and it could be yours!!

If you would like a chance at this little gem, leave a comment to this post with your Pea name or some way for me to find you.  I will choose a winner next Friday, March 29th.  Sound good to you?

It is now time to hop on... Next stop is Janna Werner.  She is amazingly talented.  I love looking at her projects.

And if you are just dropping in here first, you can go back and start on the Two Peas in a Bucket blog and go through the whole thing!

As a kid...

Did your mom or dad every take you to heir office?  Maybe on the weekend for a little catch up time for them.  I remember my dad would take me and my sisters to his office and I loved emptying his candy bowl and playing office with all the forms and highlighters and office stuff.

Not too long ago, my hubby took us all to his office on the weekend to just show it to us.  He was moving offices and was getting a nice big window office on the 27th floor.  Pretty cool.  The girls were excited to get drinks from the break room and look out the big windows at the city below.  We weren't there too long, but it was fun to have my own trip down memory lane while watching them.

I created this page with Evalicious tags and badges.  I actually used an entire sheet of the documented label snipsnip tags.  And why not?  They were cute and perfect and then I didn't need any patterned paper at all!

Thank goodness I always have my phone with me.  Otherwise I would totally miss snapshots like these!

Well, that's all for today!  Have a great Wednesday!!  And thanks for stopping by!

Something cool to share

I have not been active in trying to get published.  I love seeing layouts and I am a huge fan of real, print magazines, but it has not been something that I have sought out for myself.  I was asked to create a page for a new series in Scrapbooking & Beyond Magazine called Mix It Up.  It is a fun series that has a mixed media spin.  My first page for this is in the current issue, but now that it is out, I can share it here!

I really tried to make it very teen.  And the technique I used to create the plaid is in the magazine.

So I feel so cool. I have this published layout!  Woo hoo!  It was really awesome to see it in print.  :-)

Have a great Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

The March gallery at Jenni Bowlin

The design team gallery is up over at Jenni Bowlin Mercantile and all the design work is incredible.  It may be because the kits for March are the best!!  Such beautiful supplies.  Please check out all the design team's work, because it really is drool worthy.

Here are mine...

(This was created with mainly the mini album kit.)

(This was made with the artisan add on.)

I still have some more of these kits, so I will probably get at least one more page.  Hmmm...  Coming soon?

Happy Wednesday all!  Thanks for stopping by!

I don't like cold soccer

Or cold anything really, except maybe cold water to drink or a popsicle in summer.  I am not a cold weather person.  And you would think that living in the south, I really wouldn't have to deal with cold all that often, but this year, YIKES!  It have been bitterly cold.  Of course, spring sports have already started back.  I was at soccer practice last night, reading in my car and my battery went dead.  But practice is old news.  There have already been TWO tournaments!  Brrr.....  It was freezing.

Here we are.  The ground was rock solid.  No sun.  Wind.  It was awful.  The girls won, but they all looked like icicles moving around on the field.

I created this page with the new March Jenni Bowlin kits.  Sadly, the main papercrafting kit is sold out, but the add on kit and the mini album kit are still in stock.  Pages coming from those tomorrow.

Stay warm!!  Have a great Friday and thanks for stopping by.

Using the new border stickers on this one.  They are black stitches!!  AWESOME!

And a wedding card.  Maybe a little non traditional, but I love the color on it!

And lastly, party invitations created with the glassine bags.

Just a few things to share today.
